Gemological evaluations are performed on every item. Appraisals reports are detailed and comprehensive and follow the standards and ethics set by the American Society of Appraisers and National Association of Jewelry Appraisers report writing standards. The Appraisal Process
The Examination: The appraiser meticulously examines the property to be included in the appraisal report while testing metals, gemstone properties, obtaining measurements and taking photographs. The information on the items are recorded in preparation for research and the final appraisal report.
The Research: Value conclusions for appraisals are based on comparable sales analysis for each item. Research time is the time taken to compile test results to identify gemstones, calculate weights and determine grades. Time is also taken to determine manufacture dates (where needed), locate comparable items, investigate retail markets and consult experts, if necessary.
The Report: All completed appraisal reports are transmitted electronically, or with prior notice, printed and bound. Included in the report is a cover letter detailing the process taken and definition of values used; the jewelry, watch or gemstone description with value conclusions and photographs; diamond grading definition page (where needed); instruments and references page along with the appraisers qualifications.

*Although most items fall within the above pricing structure, please note that some items will require additional analysis and may incur a higher fee. Some examples would be bracelets and necklaces with multiple diamonds of varying shapes and sizes, items that contain more than one diamond over a carat, antique or unusual pieces that require additional market research. Appraisal fees for these items will be quoted prior to accepting the assignment.
